Laser Engraving is cool because, well, it uses a LASER. I mean, really, you’re using a laser to burn things with precision and style so this is every 12 year old’s dream! There are a number of types of lasers which can do different things, but the most common lasers are excellent at producing consistent marking on organic materials like leather and wood, as well as certain coated metals, acrylics, and a small variety of glass materials. As an added bonus, many mid-range (and up) laser engravers can also cut through a variety of materials, making it possible to both create an item from raw materials AND mark it with custom art without having to use two processes. So one sheet of wood could be cut into shapes and customized at once, opening up a world of possibilities.
